Dr. Elenir Bernardes earned her doctoral of dental surgery in 1980 at the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. She graduated in the top 10% of her class and opened her own successful practice where she practiced general dentistry for nearly a decade. After moving to the United States in 1989, Dr. Bernardes started her postgraduation program in Prosthodontics at the University of Maryland - Baltimore College of Dental Surgery. Graduating in 1997 with a residency in prosthodontics as well as a specialization in implant surgery, Dr. Bernardes still continues to further her dental education as a growing professional.
In 1998, Dr. Bernardes opened her own practice in Washington, DC where she developed customized dental treatments for her patients using state-of-the-art dental equipment and techniques. In 2005, Dr. Bernardes opened a second dental center in North Bethesda to meet the demands of a growing practice.
Dr. Bernardes currently works at both the Washington DC and North Bethesda office and is continuously striving to provide the ultimate dental care for her patients.

Dr. Shiva Kermanshi received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from university of California. She then moved to Boston where she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine from Boston University with Magna Cum Laude honors. While in Boston, she volunteered her services annually for the physically and mentally challenged children through the Special Olympics, Special Smiles Program. Dr. Kermanshi was also involved in services pertaining to under privileged youth through the Outreach Van Project. She earned her degree in Orthodontics from Howard University in Washington, DC, achieving the highest academic average amongst her colleagues during her postgraduate study. Her two-year specialty residency included advanced education in orthodontics and dental facial orthopedics, early treatment for children, adult orthodontics, Invisalign certification, and orthodontics for patients undergoing orthognatic surgery. Dr. Kermanshi prides herself in providing the highest quality orthodontic care in the most gentle and efficient manner possible.

Dr. Jeffrey Brain was born in Quantico, VA and raised in Lima, Peru, where he grew up speaking Spanish. He graduated from the University Of Maryland Dental School in 1991 with a DDS degree and received The Quintessence Award for Clinical Achievement in Periodontics. After getting an officer commission in the U.S. Navy Dental Corp, he attended a one year General Practice Residency and worked as a general dentist for four years. He graduated from a three year residency in Periodontics at Bethesda Naval Post Graduate School in 1999, and obtained Diplomat status by the American Board of Periodontology in 2000. He voluntarily separated from the Navy in 2002, and lives in Bethesda, MD.

Thiago Matias is an ambitious and talented dental assistant at Potomac Dental Center. He completed his doctoral of dental surgery at Univale of Governador Valadares in Brazil in 2002. Although he is already a dentist in Brazil, he came to the United States and is furthering his dental education so that he may practice dentistry here as well. While continuing his dental education he gains experience as well by working as a dental assistant at Potomac Dental Center.
